National Diabetes Service Scheme
What is the NDSS?
The National Diabetes Service Scheme (NDSS) is an initiative of the Australian Government. It was created to help you know and manage your diabetes. The NDSS allows any Australian with diabetes to get subsidized products and support services. This means that Australians who have diabetes will be on their way to a healthier life because of the help from the government. We are registered under this program and are licensed to provide subsidized medication and health assistance to Australians under this Government program. Some of the benefits of this program include free insulin syringes, urine testing strips, blood glucose testing strips, and insulin pump consumables. If you have any questions concerning National Diabetes Services, you can contact us.
As a registered pharmacy under this scheme, all necessary products will be made available at our store. Any products we do not have in stock will be ordered and delivered to you with no extra costs to you (benefits of being on the program). If you have not registered already, we want you to do so immediately so you do not miss out on affordable services and products that will help you manage your diabetes better. The National Diabetes Service Scheme (NDSS) is the government’s way of delivering on its promise for better health care. If you have any questions about the scheme or want to register yourself under it, you can call our pharmacy and one of our certified staff will guide you through the entire process.
Why Should I Register?
People who register with the NDSS have access to a wide range of subsidized products to help in their diabetes management which include:
- Subsidised urine testing strips.
- Subsidised blood glucose testing strips.
- Subsidised insulin pump consumables for eligible registrants.
- Free insulin syringes and pen needles.
National Diabetes Service Scheme also supports people with diabetes by providing credible, timely and affordable access to the NDSS products and support services. Capri Pharmacy is a registered NDSS Access Point where patients can have access to the diabetes service scheme. One of the changes is that insulin pump consumables are now available through community pharmacy access points.
Also, products such as blood glucose test strips are made available by Capri Pharmacy. We will make necessary arrangement to ensure we have the stock you need. For example, while insulin pump consumables are available, if we don’t have the product in stock, it can be ordered and delivered within 24-48 hours. If you make use of an insulin pump, you need to speak to Capri Pharmacy about your needs.
We have a team of friendly and reliable professionals who will provide the best advice needed to ensure you get the correct service. At Capri Pharmacy, we care about the health and well-being of our diabetic customers.
